Things to Do with the Family in Northern Ireland This Easter

24th March 2026

It’s that time of year again: the daffodils are blooming and the Easter Bunny is preparing for his big day out! As we look forward to his arrival, let’s take a look at the best family activities in Northern Ireland this Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt at Mount Stewart, County Down

Easter Egg Hunt at Mount Stewart

Who doesn’t love an Easter egg hunt? Luckily, Mount Stewart is hosting an amazing trail complete with bunny ears, trail sheets and - of course - chocolate eggs. Follow the trail through their stunning gardens and take part in nature-inspired activities that are fun for the entire family. Their mansion house has also been kitted out for the season, and will have a hunt for egg-stra large Fabergé eggs, so it’s the perfect spot to snap your family photos!

Go down the rabbit hole in County Down and County Antrim

Alpaca trekking

Join everyone’s favourite tea party enthusiasts at Ballyburren Outdoor Escapes this Easter season as they host their Alice in Wonderland themed alpaca trek. Accompanied by the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit - and an alpaca! - your family will follow the 1.4km trail across picture-perfect woodland and farmland, encountering themed decorations along the way.

For those who prefer less alpacas at their tea parties, relax at the Ulster Museum’s screening of the Alice in Wonderland animated film. Join Alice as she chases the White Rabbit, attends a very merry unbirthday tea party and plays hedgehog croquet with the Queen of Hearts.

Easter trail at The Jungle, Derry-Londonderry

Designed with young children and families in mind, The Jungle is hosting a trail adventure through their woodland this Easter. Pick up your trail handbook and pencil, solve clues and complete challenges as your little ones meet special Easter characters. Enjoy cocktail sausages and toasted marshmallows, as well as a fun-filled disco in the farmyard, before meeting with the Easter Bunny to collect chocolate eggs.

Ulster American Folk Park, County Tyrone

Pick up some Dale Farm Cool Crew ice lollies

Ever wondered where the Easter egg came from? Find out at the Ulster American Folk Park! Travel back in time on a horse and carriage ride to discover a traditional Easter in Ulster and America. Dress up in Easter bonnets and accessories for your family photos, try your hand at the egg and spoon race, and enjoy the live music. We recommend stopping on your way for an iconic Dale Farm Cool Crew ice lolly to enjoy. Treat your family to some refreshing Polly Pineapple or thirst-quencing Joker lollies!

Easter activities at Oxford Island, County Armagh

Journey to the National Trust at Oxford Island for their range of free Easter events. The Signs of Spring arts and crafts session at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre will feature mud paintings for your little artisans and a photo booth dressed in a seasonal backdrop to snap your Easter pictures. The Easter trail will take you on a calm, scenic walk through the reserve. Guided walking tours will also be taking place around the peninsula, providing the perfect opportunity to do a spot of bird watching and take in the blooming signs of spring. For fans of wildlife, check out the grebe dance experience, where you can watch the spectacle of the grebe’s courtship dance, or try your hand at pond dipping and gather some underwater beasties.

Picnic in the park, County Fermanagh

Fancy a more relaxed Easter afternoon? Enniskillen is hosting a picnic in the park. Pack up your blankets and head down to Forthill Park to enjoy a series of family games or music on the bandstand, and spend time with some adorable Easter chicks. Jo Jingles interactive music and dance for babies and toddlers will also take place, as well as so much more. Why not fill your picnic baskets with a refreshing Dale Farm Sukie for your little ones?
